Science Learning
Meet the challenges of science learning at Duke. See a learning specialist to hone your science learning skills and make understanding concepts and solving problems a satisfying learning experience.
Faculty in introductory science courses expect their students not only to master information and its symbolic representation, but also to use that knowlege appropriately to solve problems. It's not enough for you, the student, to know the basic information. You also have to know how it's represented in formulas and notations, and on exams you have to know quickly how and when and where to apply concepts, equations and formulas in new situations.
To schedule an individual consultation with a learning specialist at the Academic Resource Center, call (919) 684-5917 and ask for an ASIP (Academic Skills Instructional Program) appointment.
