Faculty & Administration Instructions
Faculty and administrators participating in the academic procession of the Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 13, 2012, should assemble in Room 131 (basement level) of the Yoh Football Building no later than 9:30 a.m. There will be signs for the faculties of Arts and Sciences (Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences); the professional schools; and the general and academic administration. With the exception of the Faculty Marshals, the faculty will march in a double column. When the candidates for degrees have taken their places, the faculty marches through the tunnel and onto the field and then to seats on either side of the platform. Please walk in pairs, until the columns part at a point near the platform. Men should remove their caps at the beginning of the ceremony for the singing of the National Anthem. You may replace your cap during the ceremony if you like, but please do wear your cap for the procession from the stadium at the end of Commencement. The program should be concluded before 11:30 a.m.
Reserved Parking. Faculty and administrators participating in the Commencement Exercises have reserved parking in the IM1 & IM3 lots (two lots directly beside the Sheffield Tennis Building) on Wannamaker Drive (between Duke University Road and Towerview Drive). Please look for signs directing you to the back entrance of the Yoh Building to the robing room.
Diploma Ceremonies. Closing ceremonies of the schools and the distribution of diplomas by departments and programs of Trinity College follow the Commencement Exercises. Each member of the faculty is urged to attend the ceremony of his or her school, department, or program. Faculty presence at these occasions is expected and always appreciated by the graduates and their families.
