Academic Apparel - 2013
All candidates for degrees (including graduates of September and December 2012) who participate in the Baccalaureate Service and/or the Commencement Exercises wear academic apparel. Academic apparel may be reserved by completing the Undergraduate Apparel Order Form or the Graduate/Professional School Apparel Form prior to March 18 (the apparel order deadline has now been extended until April 1, 2013). Candidates for the Ph.D. degree wear rental apparel; all other degrees are purchased outfits*.
Please do not call the Office of Special Events and University Ceremonies or the University Stores to request special arrangements for apparel. We ask that you complete the Apparel Order Form, even if you have your own apparel, so that we know how many to anticipate in the procession.
Apparel Pickup
Payment for all apparel must be made when it is picked up from the Bryan Center (Art Gallery, upper level), beginning Monday, April 29, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. until noon on Saturday, May 11. If you are unable to pick up your apparel at the designated time, you may arrange for someone to do so for you but they must have your payment and sizes to be certain the apparel is correct.

* This year, all bachelor and master degree outfits will be made of 100% recycled plastic. The eco-friendly outfits may be kept or returned after Commencement to be recycled. For every outfit ordered, Oak Hall will make a contribution to a campus environmental group of Duke's choosing.
