I finished my Ph.D. in French and Francophone Studies at Duke University in May of 2011. My dissertation, entitled "Utopian (Post)Colonies: Rewriting Race and Gender after the Haitian Revolution," examines the concept of the utopian colony in French and Haitian literature of the early nineteenth century, particularly in works written by French women. You can find a link to my dissertation abstract under the Teaching and Research section.

I spent the summer of 2011 researching in Europe and began lecturing at the University of New Hampshire in September.
